Racers / Club Members
/ Supporters:
Welcome to NDRA Website. We have now accomplished
our 4 meetings for the 2009-10 season. It has been
an excellent season for the club with good numbers
in most of the classes as well as good-sized crowds
at nearly all of our meetings. This year did see us
lose the Keith Whiting Memorial Trophy to the North
Island but will put this down to the large number
of South Islanders who were asked to join the North
Island to even the team numbers!!
This year also saw a couple of local cars on the
track for their first time. Avon Compton's Nissan
Skyline is starting to show potential and a very impressive
start has been made by Clinton Lochhead in his EE
Altered producing a best of 8.9 @ 146 MPH that saw
him secure the NZ record for EE Altered. An immense
performance for a near standard Nissan SR 20 DET in
a locally built Buck Engineering Chassis. A great
achievement for a first season driver.
John Gourdie also did a personal best of 8.0 @ 166
MPH also giving him the NZ record for his class.
Chris Gaines another in his first season on his new
HD Destroyer also set a NZ record in the Competition
Bike class.
We would like to again thank our sponsors and ask
you to support them because without their generosity
we would be unable to function.
We also like to take this opportunity to thank all
those out of town racers who traveled, many of them
a long distance and some of them several times to
race here this season.
Finally but certainly not least, a huge thank you
to the club members who all volunteer their time and
contribute so much to ensure the smooth running of
our meetings.
